The Sigmund Freud Private University Berlin (proper spelling: Sigmund Freud PrivatUniversität Berlin) (SFU) is a European private university in Berlin accredited under Austrian law.

The degree programs offered include Psychology (BSc & MSc), the first direct study program in Psychotherapy Science as well as licensure training for psychotherapists and journalism degree programs (Media & Digital Journalism BA & MA). In addition, SFU Berlin runs an international one-year postgraduate Master's program in Cultural Relations & Migration (taught in German and English). All study and training courses are recognized throughout the EU.

Sigmund Freud University (SFU) is a private European university accredited under Austrian law with branches in Vienna, Linz, Paris, Berlin, Milan and Ljubljana.

The Sigmund Freud Private University (short: SFU) was founded in Vienna in 2003 by Alfred Pritz, Jutta Fiegl, Heinz Laubreuter and Elisabeth Vykoukal. [1] The accreditation procedure according to the Private Universities Act, which ensures the quality of teaching and research and must be renewed regularly, was completed in 2005. SFU Paris was founded in 2006, SFU Berlin in 2013 on the former Airport Berlin-Tempelhof THF. This was followed in 2014 by the founding of the SFU Milan, SFU Linz and SFU Ljubljana.
