Silas Hathaway (born 1919) is an American actor, who appeared as the titular child in Charlie Chaplin's 1921 silent movie The Kid.[1] Hathaway was born in 1919, the year that The Kid started filming [2] and is the last surviving cast member from the film. He served in the army during World War II and was wounded with General Patton's forces and discharged in November 1943.[3]
