Brazier studied Economics and French at Durham University.[2] He began his career in 1998 at Schroders.[3] He moved to Threadneedle in 2010, where he became Head of UK equities, and then Investec in 2014.[3][4]

From 2015 until his resignation in 2023, Brazier managed the UK Alpha fund at Ninety One, one of the 'big four' UK growth funds.[5][6] Brazier had early success while in charge of UK Alpha, doubling the return of the FTSE All-Share Index, but later results were less impressive.[7]
