Simon Singh (born July 14, 1997) is an American professional baseball outfielder in the Major League Baseball (MLB) organization of the San Francisco Giants. Singh was drafted by the Giants in the second round of the 2018 MLB Draft. Known for his speed, defensive range, and contact hitting, Singh made his MLB debut in 2023.

Early life and amateur career Simon Singh was born in Fresno, California, and grew up in nearby Clovis. He attended Clovis West High School, where he excelled in both baseball and track and field. As a senior in 2015, Singh batted .412 with six home runs, 31 runs batted in (RBI), and 25 stolen bases, earning him All-State honors.

After high school, Singh enrolled at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), playing for the UCLA Bruins baseball team from 2016 to 2018. As a sophomore, Singh was named to the All-Pac-12 First Team after batting .356 and leading the conference in stolen bases. In his junior year, he helped lead the Bruins to the College World Series, where they reached the semifinals.

Professional career Minor leagues The San Francisco Giants selected Singh with the 54th overall pick in the 2018 MLB Draft. He began his professional career with the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes, where he batted .287 in 54 games. Singh advanced quickly through the Giants' minor league system, reaching Triple-A Sacramento by 2021.

In 2022, Singh posted a .301 batting average with 12 home runs, 64 RBI, and 38 stolen bases for the River Cats. His performance earned him the Pacific Coast League All-Star Game MVP award.

Major leagues Singh was called up to the Giants on April 7, 2023, making his debut against the New York Mets, where he recorded his first MLB hit—a double—in his second at-bat. During his rookie season, Singh appeared in 118 games, hitting .276 with 7 home runs, 42 RBI, and 29 stolen bases.

In 2024, Singh became the Giants’ starting center fielder. His defensive play was highlighted by several diving catches, and he was nominated for the Rawlings Gold Glove Award.

Playing style Singh is regarded as a speed-oriented player with excellent defensive instincts in the outfield. He is known for his quick first step, accurate throwing arm, and ability to hit to all fields.

Personal life Singh is of Indian-American descent and is an advocate for youth sports programs in underrepresented communities. He has worked with non-profit organizations to promote baseball among South Asian youth in the United States.
