Simworx is a Birmingham-based company founded in the year 2005 by Andrew Roberts and Terry Monkton. Simworx is a media-based firm that develops, designs and manufactures 3D and 4D dynamic motion simulation attractions and 4D effects cinemas.
Overview
Simworx is a supplier of 4D Effects Cinemas and Motion Simulation Attractions for the entertainment, education, and corporate markets. Simworx’s first product was the 4D effects cinema. Simworx opened two major attractions at Parc Spirou in Southern France: a 30-seat vehicle based on Simworx's produced ride film, Dinosaur Island, and a 5D cinema for the park. Simworx created products such as the Immersive Tunnel, the Stargazer motion ride, AGV (Automated Guided Vehicle) dark rides, 3D or 4D effects theatres, the Immersive Adventurer, and much more. Simworx has provided an Immersive Adventurer ride to Future Kid's Cartoon Network World in Kuwait.[1][2] The AV technology used in the Immersive Adventurer is highly dynamic with a 3DOF motion simulator. It is themed internally as a 16-seat vehicle which uses 13 video screens to project media on all sides of the vehicle.
Simworx rebranded in 2019 to unite both the Simworx and Robocoaster brands under one logo.[3] The Union Jack reflects Simworx's status as a British company, and the sphere represents the company's global exporting expertise. Simworx has designed a Mini Flying Theatre for Baosun Wildlife Park in Hanoi, Vietnam. The Flying Theatre allows for 20 riders per cycle, while a movie plays on a one quarter dome screen. Simworx partnered with Frontgrid for ParadropVR at Denmark's Universe Science Park.[4][5] ParadropVR combines dynamic physical movement with free roam VR content with gameplay controlled by the visitor for a unique and realistic flying experience.[5] Simworx’s recent projects included Derren Brown's Ghost Train at Thorpe Park, Racing Legends at Ferrari Land, Portaventura Spain, Marvel Avengers at Trans Studio, Indonesia, Dragon Age, Final Fantasy & Asura's Wrath rides all at Hub Zero, Shrek's Adventure, Kung Fu Panda and Underworld both at Motiongate Dubai and The Lost Temple at Movie Park, Germany.[6][7][8]
