Sina Tsegazeab (also known as Gebreamlak Sina)[1] is an Eritrean entrepreneur and businesswoman based in Uganda. She is the founder and chief executive officer of Natna Hair, a beauty brand specialising in human hair extensions and related products, which she established in Kampala in 2015.[2][3] The company operates under the registered name Super-Mars Limited and distributes its products across multiple countries in Africa, Europe, the Middle East, and North America.[1][2]
Early life and education
Tsegazeab was born in Eritrea, where she grew up in a family that ran an electronics business. Her father worked as an electronic technician, and Tsegazeab gained early exposure to commerce by working part-time in the family's electronics shop during her secondary school years.[2] She relocated to Uganda in 2012.[2]
After settling in Uganda, Tsegazeab pursued higher education at Cavendish University Uganda, where she obtained a bachelor's degree in Accounting and a diploma in Marketing.[2]
Career
Founding of Natna Hair
In 2015, Tsegazeab founded Natna Hair in Kampala after observing a shortage of quality human hair extensions available in the Ugandan market.[2][3] The brand's name, "Natna", is derived from the Tigrinya word meaning "ours".[2] The company launched with approximately nine hair product styles and has since expanded its catalogue to include over 300 types of wigs, weaves, extensions, ponytails, fringes, lace wigs, closures, and lashes.[2][3] Natna Hair also markets hair care products such as shampoos and sprays, as well as a synthetic hair line.[1]
The company emphasises first-hand sourcing of human hair, with its team directly purchasing hair and overseeing the production process abroad to maintain quality control.[2]
Expansion and collaborations
Since its founding, Natna Hair has expanded its distribution network beyond Uganda to countries including Rwanda, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Kenya, the United Kingdom, Germany, the Netherlands, the United Arab Emirates, the United States, Canada, Belgium, Norway, Sweden, Australia, Switzerland, and Israel.[2][3]
In 2018, Natna Hair partnered with Ugandan musician Sheebah Karungi to launch "Sheebah by Natna", a collaborative hair extension line.[4] The brand has also worked with other Ugandan celebrities including Spice Diana, Winnie Nwagi, Anne Kansiime, and Pia Pounds, among others, to promote its products.[2]
In October 2022, Natna Hair launched a new product collection called "Unique by Natna", consisting of 31 styles in five textures, at its studio at Prism Plaza on Kampala Road.[5]
In 2025, Tsegazeab attended the iKON Awards Connect event in Lagos, Nigeria, where she explored opportunities for partnerships between Uganda's beauty sector and the Nigerian film industry.[6]
