Single's Inferno (Hangul솔로지옥; Hanja솔로地獄) is a South Korean dating reality show produced by JTBC that first aired on Netflix in December 2021.[1] The show follows a group of Korean singles stranded on the deserted island "inferno" of Saseungbong, Ongjin.[2] To leave this inferno, they must pair up with another single to escape for a date night in their paradise, a luxurious hotel away from the island.

Format[edit]

In the beginning, the show follows five men and four women as they arrive at inferno. The inferno is a deserted island where the singles are given a limited number of amenities, supplies and food items. The singles get to know one another while staying on the island, but are not allowed to reveal their ages or occupations. Occasionally, small challenges are held, the winner of which gets to choose other individuals to spend more time with on a date on the island. On some days, the singles participate in a ceremony where they each decide on one other single they would like to go to paradise with. If two singles select each other, they get to leave the inferno and go together to paradise, a luxurious hotel away from the island, where they can spend the night together and are permitted to discuss their ages and occupations. Those who do not match with another single are forced to stay in inferno for the night. Eventually, new singles are brought to inferno and are given the opportunity to go on dates with and potentially visit paradise with other singles.
