Single Product View
A single product view is a consistent and holistic representation of product data created by an organization for the purpose of being shared with other organisations whilst maintaining data consistency.[1]. The Single Product View is typically created by brands and describes their products in terms of their specification and may contain marketing language approved by the brand as part of the brand identity.
The concept was created by Keith Frangleton, a marketing data professional as a solution to the problem of data inconsistency within digital marketing. The purpose of this view is to create a data set that remains consistent throughout the marketing data supply chain, thus allowing a brand to participate in the marketing of its products across all of its retailer's partner websites and any marketing channels those retailers employ. The view is important to organisations attempting to create multichannel and omnichannel operations [2]
