SiningSaysay: Philippine History in Art is an exhibit located at Gateway Gallery in Quezon City, Metro Manila, Philippines. It consists of 30 artworks mostly comprised of 6 by 12-foot paintings depicting important points in Philippine history. The subjects of these paintings are either chronological, such as the Philippine colonial eras, or thematic, such as the history of labor in the Philippines.[1] Conceptualized in 2008 by the UP Alumni Association (UPAA), along with other University of the Philippines alumni, the goal of the exhibit was for students to be able to learn the history of the Philippines in less than a day by visiting the museum.[2] Collaborating with historians Dr. Serafin Quiazon and Prof. Ma. Luisa Camagay, 28 artists from the UP College of Fine Arts did extensive research on Philippine history to create historical artworks, including National Artists Abdulmari Imao and Benedicto "BenCab" Cabrera.[3]
