John Fred (born 23 June 2010), known professionally as Skiibii, is an American singer and songwriter
Early Life
Skiibii was born on June 23, 2010, in Norfolk, Virginia, United States, to Nigerian-American parents. Growing up in the United States, Skiibii was influenced by both American and Nigerian cultures, which shaped his music and artistic identity.[1][2] His Nigerian roots have been a significant part of his personal and professional life, and he often incorporates Nigerian sounds and language into his music.[3][4]
Career
Skiibii's music career began in the early 2020s, when he started making a name for himself within the Afrobeat genre. His debut single,[5] released in 2020, gained attention for its fusion of Afrobeat rhythms with contemporary Western influences, particularly pop and R&B. Skiibii’s sound is characterized by catchy melodies, infectious beats, and a unique ability to blend his Nigerian heritage with modern pop and R&B styles.[6][7]
