Skillit is an American online platform that helps companies recruit skilled workers for the construction industry.[1][2] It is based in New York, U.S.[3]

History

Skillit was founded in 2021 by Fraser Patterson.[1][4][5]

In January 2023, Skillit received seed funding of $5.1 million from multiple investors, including Building Ventures.[6][7][8]

In July 2023, Skillit received further funding of $8.5 million from Bow Capital and MetaProp.[9][10]

Platform

Skillit is an online platform used by Engineering News-Record (ENR) contractors.[9][6] It helps users in managing project life cycles by connecting contractors with skilled workers across multiple trades.[9][2]

The platform uses a data-driven approach to categorize and assess worker skills and experience, which results in detailed worker profiles.[1][9] According to available data, this approach correlates with an increase in interview attendance and acceptance rates compared to industry averages.[9] Retention rates also show an increase.[9]

The platform also addresses a digital deficit in the industry and is available in multiple languages.[9] It has been described as a LinkedIn for construction workers.[1][7]
