Skrypt performing in 2018

Hitjivirue Katjatenja (Born December 18, 1993), known professionally as Skrypt, is a Namibian rapper and songwriter. Born in the capital city of Namibia, Windhoek but raised in South Africa and Austria. He initially gained recognition as a rapper while schooling in Vienna, Austria after opening for the German rock band Good Weather Forecast[1] performing unreleased music at their Austrian leg of their album tour. His rap skills attracted attention from an independent music label (22 Entertainment) who signed him in 2012 and planned on releasing his first album with them. Skrypt never ended up recording anything for the label and his deal with the Spain based 22 Entertainment ended and the label dissolved.

In 2014, Skrypt went on to release his debut project independently, a mixtape titled 'Daydream[2]' upon his return to his birthplace. This happened after he met rapper KP Illest, who had already cultivated a name for himself as an upcoming Hip Hop artist in Namibia following his success at a Sprite competition in the United Kingdom. He recorded the entire project at Illest's studio. The mixtape established his name in the underground scene in Namibia. He continued to build his name by collaborating with a host of local artists such as Lioness on her single 'Back To Basics[3]', KP Illest on his E.P 'Memoirs of a Dreamer', Paradox on 'The Known Unknown II'

On the 25th of May 2018, after a long wait, Skrypt dropped his highly anticipated mixtape titled 'For The Wait[4]' which received great reviews on major media outlets in the country[5]
