Sky Tower Hotel is a 69 meters tall proposed high-rise project[1] in Aarhus, located at the IKEA Roundabout in suburb Skejby. N.A. Skejby is the name of the building company, and the architect firm behind the project is Luplau & Poulsen. The high-rise building consists of a 18 stories hotel and a conference part, containing 375 hotel rooms (of which 100 are hotel apartments), while the basic building will reach a height between 2 and 4 stories. The tower is meant to be a landmark of the north-western suburbs of Aarhus as a transition building between the country and city area. It is allowed for the whole project to reach a floor area of 37,000 square metres.[2][3] New roads and cycle paths will be established and 71 trees are planted in the hotel garden.
After a public hearing The Sky Tower project was technically approved by the magistrate of Aarhus Municipality on April 12 2021, and is now waiting for a final approval in Aarhus City Council.[4]
