Mwila Musonda, more widely known by his stage name Slapdee (also stylized as Slap D) is a Zambian Hip Hop and Rap musician, and the Zambian regional Africa BET[1][2][3][4][5][6][7]and Itel brand-ambassador. Slapdee is currently signed under Zambian record label XYZ Entertainments, located in Lusaka, Zambia. Having won the 2009 Ngoma award for 'Best hip hop artist',[8][9][10] an MTV Africa Award for 'Regional favorite artist[11][12]', 9 ZMA awards for best male and hip hop artist,[8][13] [14][15]3 Sun FM Kwacha Music Awards[16][17][18], as well as a MAMA regional artist award, he is often considered to be one of the most influential Zambian musicians.[19][8][20][9][21][22][23][24][25]

In 2017, Slapdee participated at the Coke Studio Africa event, where he performed alongside South African singer Busiswa, and Ghanian DJ Killbeatz.[26][27][28][29][30][20][31][32][33][34][35][36][37][38]

As of 2017, Slapdee was the most searched Zambian musician on the Google search engine, and is the all time most viewed artist profile on the Zambian website zambianmusic.net.[39][40] He was also the highest paid Zambian musician of 2017.[41] His career as a musician began in 2006 when he released the song 'Asembe Isebenza'.[11] [42]Since then, Slapdee has released 5 studio albums, Asembe Isebenza, So Che, Black na White, True Story, and The Business.
