SlideBass Records is an American record label owned by reSonder Media (RSMG) based in the United States, China, and Norway. It was founded by Chinese producer Trivon as an independent label in 2018, and was acquired by reSonder Media in 2020. SlideBass was initially a crowd-sourced resource sharing platform, previously stylized as SlideBass EDM in 2018.[2]
History
Foundation of SlideBass Records: 2018-2019
According to Trivon, he conceived of SlideBass EDM whilst producing an upcoming collaboration:
"When I originally created SlideBass Records, it was an idea while we were producing an upcoming album together. In the studio, we were complaining about the lack of generosity nowadays in the music world. Many start to think of music as an industry, and as a competition. So, I decided to do something about it. That's why we created SlideBass Records, though at the time, it was called SlideBass EDM. I wanted to help out other producers alike, with amazing resources and tips on music production without limitations of budget, competition, or contracts. As far as I know it, it's going pretty well.."[3]
SlideBass Records was formed in 2018 as a subsidiary of Trivon's personal project, but soon after its foundation, the distribution changed to the newly-established SlideBass EDM. In May 2019, it was announced that the label had undergone a re-branding to SlideBass Records in efforts to offer distribution world-wide. In January 2020, reSonder Media Group officially announced the acquisition of the label, and Trivon was named founder of the SlideBass Records label.
Releases
SlideBass Records released Trivon's 2019 personal debut single, Night[4], and his first EP, Impact (EP). Trivon's single, "Mixed", was awarded the Best Collaboration of the Year 2019 by SlideBass Awards.
