Sligguth is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics.

Publication history[edit]

Sligguth was first mentioned in Marvel Premiere #4 (September 1972); the character actually first appeared in Marvel Premiere #5 (November 1972), and was created by Archie Goodwin and Barry Windsor-Smith. Sligguth was apparently destroyed in Marvel Premiere #6 (January 1973). Sligguth's "birth" was detailed in Silver Surfer Annual #2 (1989).

Fictional character biography[edit]

Sligguth is a snake-like demon, the spawn of Set, who has clashed with Doctor Strange. He works closely with his "dark priestess" Ebora and is served by an army of Serpent Men. Sligguth was apparently destroyed during a fight with Strange.[1]

Sligguth's history was revealed sometime later: Set spawned several offspring, one of which was Sligguth, shortly after the formation of the Earth and the creation of the Elder Gods. Set and his offspring later abandoned their physical forms and escaped to another dimension, allowing the Demogorge to destroy their physical forms as part of his destruction of the Elder Gods.[2]

During the Fear Itself storyline, Sligguth attended the Devil's Advocacy where they discussed the Serpent's threat on Earth.[3]

Powers and abilities[edit]

Sligguth has super-strength and enhanced durability.
