Slim Soledad (born Slina da Soledade) is a Brazilian DJ, music producer and multidisciplinary artist based in Milan, Italy. Her work blends elements of techno, baile funk and experimental club music, and she is noted for bringing the sound of queer and trans Brazilian nightlife into European electronic music spaces.[1][2]
Biography
Slim Soledad was born in Brazil and began her artistic career in São Paulo, initially involved in dance and the city's underground queer nightlife. She became part of trans-led collectives such as Chernobyl before relocating to Berlin, where she participated in the 2021 cycle of Amplify Berlin, a creative development program for emerging artists.[3] She later moved to Milan, Italy, continuing to perform internationally across Europe, South America and Asia.
Career
Slim Soledad gained international attention for her fast-paced sets and hybrid sound that combines the rhythm of Brazilian funk with techno and experimental club aesthetics.[1] Her 2024 profile and mix for Dazed magazine were released ahead of her performance at the Sónar Festival, emphasizing her growing relevance in the European electronic circuit.[2]
In 2024, she appeared on Italian pop artist Mahmood's album Nei Letti Degli Altri on the track "NLDA Intro (feat. Slim Soledad)", marking her first collaboration in mainstream European pop music.[4][5]
She was also selected for the Beatport Next 2025 program, a global platform spotlighting emerging electronic artists.[6][7]
Her performances have been featured at major events including Time Warp Brazil 2024, Sónar Barcelona, and multiple underground European festivals.[8]
Musical style
Critics describe Slim Soledad's style as a high-BPM fusion of techno, electro and baile funk, characterized by dense percussion, distorted vocals and performance elements influenced by trans-feminine club culture in Latin America.[1][2] Kaltblut Magazine highlighted her work as "a galactic blend of emotional intensity and raw club power."[9]
