Smilegate Future Lab (퓨처랩) is a South Korean non-profit foundation established by Smilegate in 2016. In 2024, it was officially launched as an independent foundation.[1]
With the vision of "Creating Creative Environments for a Better Future," the lab provides various programs focused on creativity-based education and community building for youth and creators.[2]
Smilegate Future Lab emphasizes fostering creative potential through hands-on learning, exploration, and collaboration. Its major activities include educational programs for teenagers, workshops for aspiring digital creators, and support for open innovation communities. A notable figure associated with the lab is Mitchel Resnick, a professor at the MIT Media Lab and the creator of the Scratch programming language, who serves as the foundation’s vice chairman.[3]
