Early life
Sofiene Dadi (born 11 November 1990), better known professionally as Sofine_OP1, is a French Artist Producer - Entrepreneur from Lyon France, Known for his impact in the POP Music Industry he has been described as a “Legend from Heaven”. Also, known for his Majestic Voice and the blending of Urban music with the taste of Western country, Arabs and Asian, spreading a conscious message of Curiosity - Spirituality - Peace and Love, a genre he coined as “Mus Pop“. Born in Lyon to a family of French and North African extraction, Sofine began his career as a rapper in Annecy at the age of 16. He found success in the mid-2019’s through material he published on social media (notably music videos on Instagram) and in 2022 released his debut album Him and I, which sold more than 200,000 copies in the first month. He later received international recognition, and toured in China France, Algeria, Indonesia, Lebanon, UAE, and more His second album, is being announced mid October 2022
1990 – 2006: Early life
Sofiene Dadi was born in Sainte Colombe (Isere, France) of a FrenchAlgerian mother and a French father. As a child, he rolled in Art, Both his parents, Painters and Designers would drag him for Exhibition to Gallery and the family would often listen to music from the world as he cites The fugees - Salif Keita, Yusuf Islam, even songs like David Vendetta or Guetta and Playing for Changes as influences. We hear Sofine’s Mom says in an interview. “We had a piano and since the age 9 Sofine would be playing it while his friend would knock the door so he can play soccer with them. I believe since his young age that my Son was pre-destined to become a Musician but never really knew whether it was right for me to think that way or not, you know mostparents won’t believe Music or art in general to be a stable way of earning money.” He was 15 when he left school and moved away from Home to gain Financial independence without a clear objectif in Mind. He became a waiter in a luxury Restaurant “L’hostellerie du Passeur” in “Dordogne” where he saved his salary to buy a DJ Mixer. The same Year many things happened and his life took a very unplanned path. During a late afternoon service he was serving a “Wealthy” French Man who came from USA for holiday. While Serving him Sofine asked a question “Sir how did you became that successful?” The man answered, “Buy a fly ticket Go without Back, Once you arrive in your destination, do not come back before you reach your goal”. Since then that sentence is Echoing in Sofine’s brain. September 2006 Sofine came back in his Parent’s home for few weeks, but he felt the need of a Greater call, that was the last time Sofine live inhis parents home.
2006 – 2010: Debut
In 2006, aged 16, Sofine a.k.a. “Sofine_OP1” joined MLJ Crew, a rap collective from Annecy. After few Month working as Barista “Munich Bar” in “Annecy” and spending all his free time rapping for fun, he started making simple beats for the crew as back in time “beats wasn’t easy to find and they wasn’t free” and eventually became very interested in Music Production Specifically in the Sound Frequency Science, that’s when he paused the rap scene to dedicate himself to the learning of Music Production. Sofine’s old mates told BBC “He is talented with any instruments, everyone knew that he disliked school very much, so he literally learned on his own and amazingly His talent was with everything Musical, he could play any instrument you give him, he has this Majestic voice and I remember Our first show in Annecy “Live show room” where Sofine had for the first time opened his mouth in front of a crowd and has Mesmerised every single person In the audience” Sofine love Serving people, as he say “You can never meet and make friend with many people as a Barista or Bartender will be able to do so” but never considered a career in the catering industry. That was the last Job he ever had in France. In the middle of his 17th birthday Sofine and his friend “DJ Ilyas” moved to London Where He would be selling simple Rap beats to local Rappers and would do a lot of “Cheap songwriting - recording and featuring” + DJing around Pubs Clubs and Bars in order to earn his Bill. During Day time he would give his free time and hands, sticking around producers and studios like “Metropolis Record” or “SSR Training centres”, and Soon will be signing his first official single called “Far Away” in “Sound Ministry” and chart 1st for two weeks in a raw in UK Folk scene. One day on his way to work he Bumped in a Chinese friend an Art Students coming all the way from China and He didn’t know but a gigantic Change were on the rise for Sofine’s both personal and Professional career. Late 2008 Sofine has saved money and is now Moving around the US - Italy - Spain and South Africa. After touring the world without a Purpose Sofine’s then chased an old passion he had since young which is “KungFu” and when we say “KungFu” we mean “China”. Since Young age Sofine was Passionate by that far away Land, His interest for China was transmitted by his Mom who would oftenly paint Chinese and Asian theme in home. 2010 – 2016: Premises career
Arriving in china 2010, With no money in his pocket, Sofine had no choice but to keep doing what he started back in London. Selling beats and making some Cheap recording in his Home, DJing in the Hypes club all around China and without knowing, He developed a large network of Artist, Dj’s, Rappers, Singers, FilmMakers, Photograph, Dancer, Models. After 6 years of Learning the culture, the language, developping his network, he then gets introduced to BusinessLife by the Businessman Mogul “WangHao”, where he learned one sentence I quote “Sell a 1$ lighter to every Chinese and you will earn Billions” In 2014 age 24 Sofine founded OP1 Production Training center and OP1 Studio with his “Business Mentor” in Sichuan, Chengdu China. His first founded company was aiming to help the Poorer kids to get educated in Music Production by setting up prices affordable to any Chinese parents and providing a network of Teachers from Germany, France, Usa and China. By 2022 his School has seen 1000+ Graduation. By 2016 OP1 has signed 18 Artists with 6 of them topping the Chinese Chart for Consecutive months. With a growing reputation in China the CEO of the famous OP1 Brand is now being booked to Co-Produced TV shows as “The Voice Of China” “Super Girl” “Next one”. During the same year after a trip in a region called “Xinjiang” he discovered Islam and that is going to be another gigantic turning point in Sofine’s career.
2016 – 2020: OP1 in focus
In 2017 2 new branches of OP1 sees the light, OP1 record label, and OP1 Artist Management, In 2018 OP1 bought the famous Chinese Film Production studio “Fayonne Film” and, in 2019 to 2020 OP1 wins 4Grammy Award with Sofine Producing, the 2018 Cadillac XT5 Series TV ads. Following this event’s OP1 then signed the exclusivity for Cadillac XT5 series for the whole 2018 years, Followed up by NISSAN - ADIDAS - CHA BAI DAO - XINGHUA NEWS - and more.
2021 - 2022 present
By 2022 Sofine has seen more success than he could ever imagined when he left France years ago. Sofine is the first Foreign artist living in China to ever win 4 Music awards for National TVads Production. He is the First Foreign artist in China reaching the Billion Plays on Platform like QQ Music or WangyYinYue, he is as well the first Foreign artist and entrepreneur to ever succeed in Building successful bridge between European and Chinese TOP notch artist, making Collaboration, Featuring and touring easier for Foreign artist to come in China. OP1 has managed venue for Rappers like “ASAP rocky” “Rich Brian” TOP100DJ’s “Diego Miranda” “ALok” “Troyboi“ or even venues like “boiler Room”. Even with such a tremendous career Sofine still haven't achieved what his guts was yearning for. Sofine from the age 16, is passionate about Music, but not necessarily the business side of it. Throughout his entire Journey, Sofine never stopped on making music for himself, but with a record of 250 songs produced for various celebrity and brands, by Mid 2020 Sofine enters an Unhappy mood that kept him away from Everything for a long period. Questioning himself, he realised that, everything was amazing experiences and met with an amazing number of great people, but his Inner Artist was Aspiring to “do things so can leave a Spiritual, Love, Peace and Knowledgeable trace behind me” he says in an interview with NRJ music France. He also said “ With all the experience I gathered throughout my career I need to personally connect all the dots”, and that’s where Sofine set himself for a “Personal artist career” His first studio album, Him and I was released on 19 May 2022.[4] It includes 10 songs. The first release “It’s true” topped the charts in 2022 as French born singer-songwriter Sofine OP1 keeps on wooing both critics and public alike with his Unique Performance shows. A majestic out of nowhere Voice and melodies with an Ink and a Pen that isn't comparable to anyone on the market for the past decade, His singles like Remembrance and Send a wish are set to follow His most famous yet song “It’s true” 2022 follow up The Man Who experienced sweats in his song, reached album chart top tens in 3 countries on Apple Music. The single views by Millions in less than 1 month, earning a global stage. He made successful tours in Europe and Central Asia.
