Brief Introduction
Sohinder Gill is the HERO Electric’s CEO and also the Director of Corporate Affairs for the Society of Manufacturers of Electric Vehicles. He has over twenty-five years of experience in Automotive Industry. Under Sohinder Gill, Hero Electric has expanded to become the market leader for the Electric Two-Wheeler industry.[1] He used his strategic thinking to initiate the formation of the Society of Manufacturers of Electric Vehicles. Since its formation, the society has provided a common platform for promotion, development and advancement of the manufacturers’ interests in the Electric Vehicle industry[2].
Early life and education
Sohinder Gill was born in Punjab, brought up in Delhi. He has a BE (Mechanical Engineering), COP German and French Languages, Mechanical Engineering from Delhi College of Engineering[3].
Career Information
Sohinder Gill started his career with Larsen & Toubro in the Aerospace division. He was part of the team that was mandated with the development of the Satellite Launching Vehicle for Indian Space Research Organization[4]. His keen interest is in Business Process Re-engineering and the development of New Products. Grill has worked in all major functions of leading organizations like Honda, Yamaha, L&T, JK Group and GPL[5]. Since joining HERO ECO Group, The parent company for HERO Eletric , in 2008 as the CEO of HERO Electric, Sohinder has spurred growth making the company a market leader in the Electric Vehicle industry[6].
