Sol Duc Rainforest

The Sol Duc Rainforest is a temperate rainforest located in the Sol Duc Valley of the northwestern Olympic Peninsula, within Olympic National Park[1]. Characterized by its dense old-growth forests, high annual rainfall, and rich biodiversity, the rainforest is dominated by towering conifer species such as Sitka spruce, western hemlock, and Douglas fir[2][3]. The Sol Duc Rainforest forms part of the larger temperate rainforest ecosystem of the Olympic Mountains and is renowned for its moss-covered trees, abundant wildlife, and scenic river corridors associated with the Sol Duc River. The area is a popular destination for hiking, wildlife observation, and ecological research. The Sol Duc Rainforest is also home to the spectacular Sol Duc Falls and the Sol Duc Hot Springs.
