Sol Sta
Sol Sta Sol Sta is a vinyl records store in the Minnehaha-Longfellow neighborhood of Saint Paul, MN. The store opened as Solid State in December of 2016, owned by couple Phil and Hannah Borreson. Not only does the shop sell new and used vinyl, it also sells 'exclusive' jewelry, accessories, CDs, cassettes, and musical equipment.[1] Along with all their in-store merchandise, Sol Sta's entire used inventory is available for purchase on their website. [2]
The Label Sol Sta released its first release, 300 opaque pink vinyl copies of Ocurrens by Minnesota band Falcon Arrow, on Record Store Day of 2019 (April 13th).[3]
The Rockin' Roller In June of 2018, Sol Sta debuted the Twin Cities' first and only 'record store on wheels'. Sol Sta's co-owner Phil Borreson bought a school bus off Craigslist, working for a week and a half to transform the bus into a retail space. The renovations included tearing out old seats, adding racks to fill with records, and painting the outside blue and silver.[4] Live From The Record Room' "Live From The Record Room" performances are intimate concerts held at Sol Sta's brick and mortar shop.[5]
