Something Long And Complicated (born March 16, 1985) is a British person. He became widely known to the public for an incident where Facebook blocked his account (2015).[1]. He is also known for taking a plastic gun into a public library (2020)[2]

Early life[edit]

Something was born 16 March 1985, in Grimsby with the given name William Phillip Wood [3]. By the age of 3 years old he had been placed in foster care full time, growing up in numerous families until age 16 when he got his first flat.

Something adopted the nickname “SLAC” (short for Something Long And Complicated) from 2002 until 2007 when he officially changed his name by deed poll and updated his official documents, at this time he began using Something as his name.


Something Complicated has worked with B&Q, Gamestation, Richies Restaurant, TSC Foods, CCL, Dominos, Gift, British Red Cross, Real Fundraising, Pret A Manger and TaskRabbit.

Something Complicated was also a director of Molly Pembroke LTD[4]

Personal life[edit]

Something was married in Ukraine, this relationship ended in 2010.


Something had his Facebook account blocked in 2015, Facebook refused to accept his UK government issued ID, but after Something asked the media for help Facebook relented and reactivated his account.[5]

In 2019 Something was sent to prison[6], during this time his mobile phone bill lapsed and when he was released he can no longer access his original Facebook account as he had 2FA enabled on both his Facebook account and associated email address.


Something was sent to Pentonville prison in 2019 on a firearms charge, later he was sentenced to a hospital order[7]

During his time in Pentonville prison an altercation with a prison guard resulted in Something losing partial vision in his left eye.
