Soshanguve Community Radio (93.0 FM) is a radio station in Tshwane, South Africa. It is situated at Block F (west) Soshanguve. It caters for the residents of Soshanguve, surrounding areas and South Africa. It is popularly known as Sosha FM by the residents of Soshanguve.[1]
History
Soshanguve Community Radio is the oldest community station in the City of Tshwane Metropolitan Municipality. The station started broadcasting on Saturday the 17th February 1996. It was founded in 1993 by a community organization called Soshanguve Residents Association (SOREA)
The station has grown over the years from broadcasting for Soshanguve and surrounding areas to broadcasting for South Africans anywhere in South Africa. The station started with 12 hours of broadcast to now 24/7
The station's content type is News, Music and talk. Its main target is local communities. Soshanguve Community Radio has received many awards over the years including the MTN radio-awards, LIBERTY RADIO AWARDS etc.
