Soufiane Choubani
Soufiane Choubani is a Moroccan educator and debate coach, he is the founder of the Moroccan National Debate Team, which he established in 2014[1].
Career
In 2014, Soufiane founded the Moroccan National Debate Team, marking North Africa’s first official participation in the World Schools Debating Championship. Under his leadership, the team has competed in prominent tournaments such as the World Individual Debating & Public Speaking Championships, representing Morocco on a global stage and introducing the World Schools Debate style to Morocco.[2]
Before creating the national, he coached university debate teams in Morocco, contributing to a growing national interest in public speaking and critical thinking. When asked what inspired him to create the team, he said he was inspired by The Arab Spring. In recognition of his work, he was awarded the **Best Debate Coach in Morocco** in 2014.[3]
