Soul Passage is a 2021 Metroidvania action-adventure game developed by Emrah Özbay and his team. It is planned to release on Microsoft Windows, macOS, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, Google Stadia & Xbox in early 2025. Development was funded by the story owner and game designer Emrah Ozbay. Soul Passage plans to launch a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign by March 2023.
The main character is the Obligor, a nameless warrior who carries a burden on his/her shoulders. He/She wanders & explores the Soul Universe to save his/her family from the Soul Collectors.
Gameplay
Soul Passage, which loads RPG elements on top of known Metroidvania elements, has been designed with gameplay that will immerse the player. The team spent a lot of time creating an enjoyable game where players can explore different weapons and abilities. The game system prepares a game where players can improve and customize their gameplay with weapons and outfits that they can find and buy while they travel the Soul Universe. The game includes fun puzzles that will require players to use the entire playing field and their own skills wisely against enemies. To distinguish the game from other Metroidvanias, developers prepared it with a scenario that will allow players to travel to other worlds. Players will have to deal with different physics while navigating different worlds and will enjoy the challenging areas of the game more. The development team is still working to improve the gameplay.
The gameplay is generally similar to other Metroidvania games. The player controls the main character, The Obligor, an alien being who wields different kinds of weapons to combat enemies. During his adventure, Obligor encounters many hostile creatures and soul eaters. The game is planned to feature over 100 different enemies and more than 20 different chapter bosses.
The Obligor will be able to wear different weapons and suits, and The Obligor will have an ability tree for his accessible skills. Some of the weapons and suits will connect with the skills; The Obligor can only use these skills if he wears these weapons and suits. Soul Passage will feature a quest and side story system, with characters asking and helping Obligor to fulfill certain requests.
The Obligor is obligated to collect the souls of his enemies to pass the chapters.

This quest will test Obligor's strength, bravery, and determination as he navigates through a dangerous world filled with challenges and obstacles. The game features fast-paced action, intricate level design, and a deep, engaging storyline that immerses players in the world of Soul Passage.
