Soundsphere is a music and culture website and magazine focusing on mainly alternative arts news, reviews, and features, predominantly supporting artists in the North of England, and worldwide.

History[edit]

The site is an editorially independent publication that was started by journalist Dom Smith in 2008 and he is now supported by a team of other journalists, with a worldwide team of freelancers.

There were three print[1] editions (each with a limited print run of 1,000 copies) that are now available in digital[2] form: One in 2010.[3], which had Placebo on the cover, and also feature interviews with Paradise Lost, Gary Numan and Rammstein, a second in 2011[4] (featuring Enter Shikari, Patrick Stump, Pendulum, Frank Turner and more) and a third in 2013[5] featuring the likes of Asking Alexandria on the cover, The Gaslight Anthem and Halestorm.

The site is built around live reviews, album reviews and interviews, and has supported the likes of The 1975[6] and Yungblud[7] since the beginning of their careers, but also features content centring around wrestling, pop culture, comic books and movies, including interviews with the likes of actor Crispin Glover[8], and WWE Hall of Fame member, Ric Flair[9].

Soundsphere's work has been featured on Blabbermouth.net for interviewing Joey Jordison[10] and Filter (band)[11], Digital Spy for interviewing Bill Goldberg[12], alongside Ultimate Guitar[13] for speaking with Barney Greenway of Napalm Death, and NME for the launch of its mental health podcast, Keep Talking[14] which featured Jehnny Beth, Metz (band), Idles and Primal Scream.
