Sourav Barui (Bengali: সৌরভ বারুই) (born 5th January 1997) is an Indian Bengali poet, story writer, essayist and local historian. Who has worked with Barasat's History since 2016. He is known for his two notable works - Itihaser Aloke Barasat and Kinbodonti Khona O Tar Aitihasik Anushandhan.
Early Life
Sourav Barui was born in Barasat, a town in Kolkata, West Bengal. His father Sunil Barui is a daily labourer and his mother Sovarani is a housewife. He grew up in Subhas pally, a village named after Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. He started his education at Manju Ray Shishushiksha Niketan, a primary school. Then he did his Higher Secondary at Banamalipur Santosh Bhattacharya Memorial High School in Barasat. He did his History Graduation from Barasat College affiliated with West Bengal State University and M.A from Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata.
Career
He started his career as a freelance writer in 2016. He wrote several stories, poems and articles. His works were published in several Kolkata based journals and little Magazines. In 2017, the 20-year-old Sourav tried to start his Weekly Magazine "Banga Darshan" but he failed.
