The Southeast Team Handball Conference was an NCAA college athletic conference. It was the first Handball College Conference. It was established in 1997 after the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta and was a joint initiative funded in part by the USOC and the NCAA. The conference was eventually disbanded due to a lack of funding and interest. Historically, handball has had a number of collegiate programs throughout the U.S. but these programs have often disbanded after a few years due to funding shortfalls and other challenges.[1] The Southeast Team Handball Conference was unique in that it was the only college focused handball conference that the U.S. has ever had with several colleges in close proximity.
