About Southern Chiefs' Organization[edit]
The Southern Chiefs' Organization (SCO) is an independent political forum and advocacy organization established in 1999 which represents 34 Anishinaabe and Dakota First Nations located across the southern region of Manitoba.[1] Elected on January 11, 2017, Grand Chief Jerry Daniels, of Long Plain First Nation, Manitoba, is the seventh Grand Chief of the Southern Chiefs' Organization.[2] Daniels entered a second term as Grand Chief on January 10, 2020 in an unprecedented election by acclamation.[3]
