Southern Pacific 1233 is an S-10 class 0-6-0 switcher steam locomotive built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works in July, 1918. After several boiler modifications at the Tracy shops, the locomotive returned to service on February 18, 1919. On March 1956, the locomotive was retired from service.[1] On March 30, 1957, No. 1233 was moved east across the street into the Yolo County fairgrounds. On June 1982, the restoration of the locomotive began, and in spring 1989, the locomotive returned to service on the Yolo Shortline. In January 1995, the Yolo Shortline trucked the 1233 from the fairgrounds approximately 1 mile to its yard on East Main Street. This SP 0-6-0 made many test runs out of Woodland on April 1996. On October of 1997, to photograph one of the Clarksburg specials. The 1233 is being prepared for the day’s run in Woodland. On June 1999, in the locomotive. The 1233 will be reassembled and shipped back to its site by the depot for static display. The boiler work was completed in 2003, and it was waiting for the driving box work to be completed upon the signing of a new lease, which did not happen. As of 2024, the locomotive is on static display in Woodland, California.
