In her death, Artemesia is ordered by her stepmother to marry in hopes of saving the family's reputation and finances as her father had gambled most of it away. Her wish to escape leads to the unforeseen swap of the faerie queen and her place. Now stuck in the land of Faerie, she must now find her way back to her world. The comic series debuted October 3rd 2018 [1] in stores and completed March 20th 2019 with its final 5th issue.

Development and Publication

Sparrowhawk was a story inspired by the dark-twisted earthy fashion of Alexander McQueen's Savage Beauty, a book dedicated to his couture works. In 2011, Dawson started writing a book in spirit of the collection, but later scrapped it. Later in Dawson's career, she found more inspiration for her main character in the likeness of Dido Elizabeth Belle.
