Spirit Super is a profit-for-members Industry superannuation fund that holds a Mysuper Authority.
As a national fund with 331,048[1] members Australia-wide, Spirit Super is ranked as the 14th largest Superannuation fund in Australia.[2] It has 72,703 active employers and has received $1.4bn in employer contributions.[3]
History
Spirit Super was formed on the 1st of April 2021 through the merger of Tasplan and MTAA Super.
Leeanne Turner (former CEO of MTAA) was the go-forward CEO of Spirit Super upon the merger's completion.[4] In early 2022 Turner retired and Spirit Super welcomed Jason Murray (former Chief of member experience at Q Super) as its new CEO. [5]
Post merger, Spirit Super retained Tasplan’s Hobart based contact centre and in-house administration.
Products and services
Spirit Super offers Accumulation and Pension products, as well as Group life insurance cover through MetLife Insurance Limited, intra-fund advice for members and a clearing house available to employers.[6]
