Spiritless is an American company that makes alcohol-removed distilled spirits for use in non-alcoholic mixed drinks. Founders Lexie Larsen, Lauren Chitwood, and Abbey Ferguson started the company after realizing that the non-alcoholic drink market, which primarily sold non-alcoholic versions of beer, gin, and vodka, was lacking a bourbon alternative.[1] The Louisville-based, women-owned company has distribution in 37 U.S. States through Republic National Distributing Company.[2]

According to the FAQs on their website, each of Spiritless's spirits is created by first distilling a full-proof traditional alcoholic spirit, then distilling it a second time to remove the alcohol. This allows the products to retain some of the flavor and mouthfeel of an alcoholic product while removing the alcohol. The company encourages people to drink their cocktails "halfsies" with half alcohol and half non-alcoholic spirits, or completely spiritless.[3]

The company produces two non-alcoholic spirits: "Kentucky 74" (non-alcoholic whiskey), and "Jalisco 55' (non-alcoholic tequila), as well as a selection of non-alcoholic canned cocktails which use their spirits.[4] "Kentucky 74" was named Best Non-Alcoholic Spirit at the 2021 L.A. Spirits Awards.[5]

Products[edit]
