Sports Climax is a national online sports magazine owned by Sports Climax, LLC and founded by current Senior Editor Tom Ferda [1] in 2008. The sites slogans are, "Sports News With a Happy Ending" and "Have You Had Your Sports Climax Today?"

The site describes itself as an edgy sports site and contains columns entitled Jocks Behind Bars, Bitch-Slap-of-the-Week and WTF! The look and feel of the site appears to have been created to attract a young, hip sports fan.

The site's original Climax Girls were introduced and added during the summer of 2010 to help promote the site. Like Maxim Magazine and Sports Illustrated features sexy women on their sites, Sports Climax appears to be leaning towards that same angle.

Not yet considered a mainstream sports publication, the site depends on several outside sports sites like Deadspin.com, Yahoo!Sports and Fark.com to send traffic by linking to its original content. At the time of this writing, the site was also marketing itself on several social networks including Facebook and Twitter.

Website Content

The website's content is compiled from contributions by full-time columnists including Paula Duffy, a Los Angeles attorney and columnist [2] for the Huffington Post, Theo Fightmaster, a former Associate Production Manager for ESPN and Ferda, the current Senior Editor for the site. Other content is contributed by a variety of writers located around the country.

Much of the content of the site consists of topical mainstream news but there are various additional segments throughout the site.

Bitch-Slap-of-the-Week

This segment honors the team, athlete or exec who had the most futile performance of the week. Many times this is done in parody style with the honoree being photo-shopped into a humorous situation.

Jocks Behind Bars

This section covers sports jocks who have been arrested, cuffed and taken in for a mugshot including Jay Mariotti, Michael Vick and Lawrence Taylor. It is rumored that Sports Climax, LLC has secured the domain name, JocksBehindBars.com and is currently creating a sister site under that name.

WTF!

This segment covers bizarre, off-the-wall sports moments like the Chicago White Sox inserting midget Eddie Gaedel to bat in a Major League Baseball game, Manute Bol boxing Refrigerator Perry in a Celebrity Boxing match or Minnesota Vikings player, Jim Marshall running a fumble back in the wrong direction.
