Spot Studio.[1] is an artistic studio based in Barcelona, Spain. Founded and directed by Nicolás Cañellas, the studio specialises in creating images and animation videos with a contemporary aesthetic[2]. Together with a selective team of artists, designers and creative technicians, their mission is to offer unique visual experiences for each project.
The studio was founded on 20 July 2018 by Nicolás Cañellas. Spot's team seeks to innovate by challenging the boundaries of art and design with a strong visual and technical sensibility. Providing creative direction, high-definition imagery, animation and virtual reality applications[1], the studio draws on the fundamentals of graphic design and trends in 3D and CGI to create bold images with strong graphic impact. Above all, however, what characterises its creations is a constant dialogue between photography and digital imaging. The studio's work stands out for its poetic search to communicate ideas, where light becomes a storyteller. This articulation between cinematography and technology gives a haptic quality to their pieces, which often explore the boundaries between the real and the surreal[3].
In February 2022 Spot Studio moved to its new space at 22@, an urban renewal area in Barcelona. The proposal is to go beyond a design and 3D studio, to also develop as a multifunctional and collaborative space for audiovisual, cultural, and technological exploration.

They have worked with clients such as the WMF Group, Yoo Makeup Official, Dean Norton[4], Sindroms[5], Adina Burlacu[3] and many more. Spot Studio specialises in balancing CGI and photography, “producing bold and graphic images”[6]. Their creations are based on a minimalist aesthetic, focusing on “frame structures, lighting and color compositions”[2]. As of July 2022, Spot Studio has worked on 28 projects[7] providing “creative direction, high-end images, brand images, animation and set design for forward thinking clients and brands”[8].
For the WMF Group, Spot studio created a series of computer-generated films. The aim of this project was to create a “cozy and sleek environment surrounding their products”[9].
In 2019, Spot Studio worked on the concept, design, and direction of Emeco’s 111 Navy Chair campaign. The 111 Navy Chair became available in 2010 through a partnership between The Coca-Cola Company and Emeco[10]. The chair was re-created using rPET plastic bottles[11] to solve “an environmental problem: Upcycling consumer waste into a sustainable, timeless, classic chair”[12]
Spot Studio also collaborated on the German post-production studio WOLFRAM's project titled Room for Nature[13]. This project sought “to re-learn living spaces as a concept, and explore the direction of these environments in the future”[13].
