Sprindort Massacre

The Sprindort Massacre was a Soviet war crime committed during World War II, where civilians were murdered in the village of Sprindort (East Prussia). It is among the least known Soviet war crimes today.

The Leipzigier Neueste Nachrichten newspaper of 31 October 1944 recorded the crime: "In Sprindort, 8 kilometers southeast of Gumbinnen, were again found in a shallow grave, corpses of civilians killed by beating. It had murdered of all ages."[1][not in citation given]
