Early life and career beginnings (2017–2020)
Spyder T is a Dutch rapper, producer, and songwriter who began experimenting with music in his early teens. Initially, he created remixes and humorous tracks as a creative outlet during moments of boredom. One of his first English-language songs, a comedic track about passing another school year, was uploaded to SoundCloud without expectation. Despite unpolished vocals and minimal production, it unexpectedly amassed over 30,000 plays in a matter of days.[1] This success attracted the attention of a small management group and marked the beginning of his career under the name Spyder T.
Independent releases and management disputes (2020–2023)
Following his early momentum, Spyder T shifted focus toward beat-driven, instrumental work. His sound combined layered piano melodies, distorted textures, and trap-inspired drums. During this period, he released multiple projects through the label Eight18n Music.
Notable early releases included:
- HomieGPT
- Snake Bitch (later removed)
- Mr818
- Mr808
- Ritmo di Aruba (with MrSnieders)
- Indo Shi (feat. LoempiaBoy)
- Mr90s
- Mr777
- B010723
- Nocturne 18
- I Need to Know (produced for Malik West)
One of his last tracks during this phase, Holy Choir x Spyder T, featured a sampled gospel intro. Management refused clearance for official release, citing copyright issues. Spyder T responded by self-releasing it exclusively on SoundCloud. Soon after, his catalog was removed from streaming services and his management deal ended, marking a hiatus from official distribution.
HelmerHood Records and Dolle Pret (2025–present)
In 2025, Spyder T launched his own imprint, HelmerHood Records, and announced work on his debut album, Dolle Pret. The project takes its name from a defunct indoor play park in Almelo, symbolizing themes of lost innocence and chaotic nostalgia.[2]
Officially announced on June 3, 2025, the album blends trap beats with ambient interludes, childhood samples, and pitch-shifted vocals. Its visual aesthetic has been described as a “lost footage archive of forgotten memories.”
Confirmed tracks include:
- Dolle Pret / DOOLHOF (Intro)
- BOLLE PET
- ZONDER MIJ
- MOODSWINGS / BO GRITA
- FINANCIEEL
Artistic style
Spyder T’s production is defined by contrasts of chaos and minimalism. He often pairs stripped-back piano motifs with layered synths, distorted vocal chops, and experimental effects. He describes music as both a creative outlet and a coping mechanism. Living with ADHD, his process is impulsive and spontaneous, resulting in raw and deliberately imperfect tracks that reflect his environment. Outside of music, Spyder T studies media design, often integrating visual storytelling into his projects.
