Stack Bundles (born Rayquon Elliott; October 21, 1982 – June 11, 2007) was an American rapper from Far Rockaway, Queens, New York City. He gained recognition in the mid-2000s as a prominent figure on the New York mixtape circuit and was best known for his affiliation with rapper Jim Jones and the hip hop collective ByrdGang Records. His music was marked by gritty street narratives and collaborations with major rap artists before his life was cut short by gun violence.(1)
Early life
Rayquon Elliott was born on October 21, 1982, and raised in the Far Rockaway neighborhood of Queens, New York. He entered the local rap scene as a young artist, rapping about his life experiences and the realities of urban street culture. Stack Bundles first appeared on the mixtape circuit, gaining exposure through DJ Clue?’s Desert Storm Records mixtapes alongside artists such as Fabolous and Joe Budden.(3) In 2006, he signed with Jim Jones’ ByrdGang Records, a collective associated with The Diplomats (Dipset) hip hop group.
While with ByrdGang, Stack Bundles featured on several projects, including M.O.B. (Members of ByrdGang) and appearances on Jim Jones’ Hustler’s P.O.M.E. and the compilation A Dipset X-Mas.(4) He was known for his aggressive delivery and raw lyrical content, which resonated within the underground hip hop community. Death
On June 11, 2007, Stack Bundles was fatally shot in Far Rockaway, Queens, at approximately 6 a.m. while returning to his apartment after a night out. Police reported that he was shot once in the head and once in the neck; his wallet and cash were reportedly left on his person, though a medallion was taken.(6) hHe was 24 years old. The circumstances surrounding his death suggested a targeted shooting, although no arrests were publicly reported.(7)
