Startup Thailand
Startup Thailand is a national Thai startup promotion platform implemented to support and encourage startup growth and startup ecosystem in Thailand, led by the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST). The policy was initiated by the National Startup Committee (NSC),[1] with the goal of supporting startup activities in Thailand.[2] The platform is part of Thailand's national policy attempts to promote science- and innovation-driven economic growth.[3]
The NSC was appointed in 2016 by the Prime Minister, General Prayuth Chan-ocha, to establish a strategy to support startups and build a startup ecosystem in Thailand,[4] administrated by MOST. The committee is chaired by the Permanent Secretary of Finance and composed of representatives from related organizations and agencies.
