Steambirds Alliance is a massively multiplayer online shoot 'em up video game developed by Spryfox. The game is a spiritual successor to Realm of the Mad God, a game that Spryfox co-developed but was forced to sell..[1] It was in private alpha from March 2016,[2] private beta from July 2018[3], entered open beta on May 24 2019[4][5], and released on August 22 2019[6]

The game is free-to-play with optional in-game micro-transactions.

Development[edit]

The game has been in development for at least 6 years,[7] defying the developer's optimistic time estimates repeatedly. They first hoped their first open beta would be in 2015,[8] then December 2017.[7]

The game was showcased at PAX 2015 and PAX 2017.[9]

Reception[edit]

MMOHuts gave the game a 4/5.[10]
