Stefan Krause (born 1962) is the CEO of EVelozcity, an EV startup based in Los Angeles, CA.

Krause was born the son of German parents in Bogotá and grew up bilingually in Colombia. After graduating from the German school in Bogotá (high school Colegio Andino) he moved in 1981 to Würzburg to study business administration at the Julius-Maximilians-University Würzburg. He graduated in 1986 as a business graduate and then gained his first professional experience in his native Colombia. In 1987 he started his career in the BMW Group as a Controlling Officer. He then joined BMW Financial Services in 1993 as Head of Finance, respectively as Head of Finance to the US for BMW Financial Services. He was supported (mentored/sponsored) by former CEO Joachim Milberg and former CFO Helmut Panke. After his return to Germany in 1998, he rose to head of distribution for Europe and divisional director. Only one and a half years later, in 2002, he became the youngest ever Chief Financial Officer. As a member of the Executive Board.[1], he initially held corporatewide responsibility for accounting, taxes, controlling, financing, organization and IT as well as responsibility for the financing business and for the BMW IT company Softlab. After that he was responsible for Sales & Marketing at BMW until autumn 2007.[2] Krause served as Rolls Royce CFO and BMW board member[3] and was responsible for the relaunch of the MINI brand.

On April 1, 2008, Krause joined Deutsche Bank and became a member of the Executive Board and the Group Executive Committee. Since October 1, 2008, Krause was the Chief Financial Officer of Deutsche Bank, succeeding Anthony di Lorio. He was responsible for finance, tax, investor relations, treasury and group strategy and planning.

The supervisory board of Postbank elected Stefan Krause as its chairman on July 14, 2015.

Krause retired from Deutsche Bank AG at the end of October 2015 and resigned as Postbank's chairman of the supervisory board. Since then, he has worked as a senior adviser to private equity investor Warburg Pincus[4]

On June 9, 2016, Krause was elected to the Supervisory Board of Rocket Internet SE at the Annual General Meeting. On March 1, 2017, he became CFO of Sino-Californian startup Faraday Future Inc.[5] but ended this collaboration in November 2017. In December 2017, it was announced that he founded his own electric car company, EVELOZCITY[6]

In other technologically focused efforts, Krause has been active working with VELO3D on their 3D metal printing solutions. VELO3D welcomed Stefan Krause aboard the team in 2021 as a member of the team's audit committee as well as its board of directors. Velo3D seeks to empower companies to manufacture anything they needed through end-to-end software, hardware, and process-control solutions.

As one of the first companies in the industry to embrace SupportFree 3D metal printing, VELO3D was added to the World's Most Innovative Companies For 2021 list by Fast Company.
