Stephan Sigrist
Stephan Sigrist (* 1975 in Lucerne) is a Swiss writer, interdisciplinary strategist and speaker.
Life and career
Stephan Sigrist studied biochemistry at ETH Zurich where he wrote his doctoral thesis at the Collegium Helveticum on the topic “Chancen und Risiken der prädiktiven Medizin für Life-Science-Unternehmen” (“Opportunities and risks of predictive medicine for life science companies”). Prior to that, he was a medical researcher in the field of molecular toxicology at Hoffmann-La Roche and worked for Roland Berger Strategy Consultants as a management consultant and as a Senior Researcher at the Gottlieb Duttweiler Institute.
In 2007 he founded the W.I.R.E. think tank, which systematically analyses new developments, trends and innovations at the interface between science and practice and translates these into strategic action areas for organizations and decision makers.[1] Sigrist grapples with the challenges of shaping the future – with a focus on the digital transformation of industry, science and society.[2] At the heart of his work are questions concerning long-term planning in networked systems and fostering sustainable innovation while taking account of changing social needs.[3]
In 2017 Sigrist was chosen as a “Digital Shaper” by the Swiss business magazine Bilanz.[4] He has been a member of the Foundation Governing Board of aha! Swiss Allergy Centre, the Foundation Board of Science & Cité and the Innovation Council of Innosuisse, the Swiss agency for the promotion of science-based innovation. Sigrist also supports the Swiss Economic Forum and numerous other strategic bodies.
