Investment[edit]
Akintayo is also the MD/CEO of Gtext Homes, a fast-growing real estate company in Lagos, Nigeria. His business projection goes thus, “Currently we have over 15-16 million housing deficiencies in Nigeria alone not to talk of other African countries. By the year 2035, we are targeting 200 estates. As a result we hope we would have solved over a million housing problems.
Presently we have expanded to the US, UK and the Middle East so in the next three to ten years we hope to be solidly on ground and grow our market. I believe that in the next ten years we will have a major stake in the agricultural sector in Nigeria. I have a strong passion for those two industries because of its ability to provide employment opportunities for people”.
Motivation for Success[edit]
In his words; "My surname was poverty. Hunger was my biggest challenge." Stephen spent the first twelve years of his life living in the forest of Maiduguri (along Danboa road). The living conditions were so bad that he slept on a mattress for the first time at the age of 13. As a result of the family's struggles, his primary school education was spotty. Things got better in secondary school, though his mum had to borrow money each term to pay his school fees.
His future looked very bleak. At 16, he read Rich Dad Poor Dad, and that propelled him to his achievements. He started the business a year later, selling GNLD food supplements. Not long after, he ventured into his first online business, selling eBooks. From there, he did a dozen more businesses with varying degrees of success.
Personal life[edit]
Stephen is married to Bisi Akintayo, who is popularly known as "The Amazon of Mini-Importation". They have three children namely; Ephraim, Sapphire and Divine. He is an ordained Pastor with Living Faith Church Worldwide.
