Stephen Allen Held (born August 26, 1960) is an American actor and rancher, known for Patriot Games (1992), Return to Lonesome Dove (1993) and Baywatch (1994), who also served on the National Board of Directors for the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) from 1988 to 1990 and as the National Chair of the SAG Young Performers Committee. Additionally, he was in the top 12% of SAG earnings for over 20 years.
Biography[edit]
Stephen Held was born on August 26, 1960 in North Hollywood, California. At two months old, he was adopted into the home of McCulla "Cap" and Jean Cathey Hough of Broadus, Montana. He graduated from Powder River County District High School in the Class of 1978, and attended Rocky Mountain College in Billings, Montana and San Diego State University in San Diego, California. After two years of graduate work at the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco, California, he spent two seasons at the Williamstown Theatre Festival in Massachusetts, and went on to a nearly 30-year career in acting. In 2005 he returned to Powder River County, Montana and raised top 1% Angus cattle and owned world champion horses. He currently resides in Powder River County, Montana.
