Stephen Rezza (born November 3, 1993)[1] is an American singer, producer and songwriter.[2][3] Rezza began his musical career in 2013 by uploading covers of popular songs on YouTube. He currently resides in Los Angeles.
Biography
Rezza was born on November 3, 1993. He dropped out of high school at the age of 14 to pursue his dream of becoming a singer-songwriter.[4] He started a YouTube Channel in 2013, uploading his first cover on “Locked Out of Heaven”[5]
Rezza was in a relationship with singer Christina Grimmie.[6] Grimmie was fatally shot and killed on June 10, 2016 by Kevin James Loibl.[7]
In early 2019, Rezza had to undergo surgery to remove a brain tumor.
On April 10, 2020, Rezza released the single Hardmode, which features Grimmie’s vocals.[8] Rezza told the press, “I almost never put these songs out. They're so personal I didn't think the world wanted to hear them. Next thing I knew I was on an operating table wide awake, skull open & losing language while my brain’s being worked on. I almost lost everything. If I had died or lost the ability to make music, the only thing I would’ve truly regretted would’ve been never finishing this album for her.”[6][3] He plans on releasing an album “Songs for Christina” in memory of Grimmie.
