Stephen Hendricks (artist name: Stephon Hendricks, pen name: Hendrix Sky; born January 22, 1987) is a Canadian musical artist, author and traveler.[2][3][4]

Early life[edit]

Hendricks was born and raised in his early years in Blake Street Public Housing in the district of Toronto, Ontario. He then transitioned to Allenbury Gardens Public Housing where he spent the remainder years of his childhood. There he met platinum music artist Snow who also grew up in the same housing and gave him advice, took him to the studio and even featured him at just the age of 17 on his Two Hands clapping album DVD.[5][6]

Career[edit]

At the age of 19, Hendricks joined the Canadian Army where he was assigned to the 3rd Battalion of the Royal Canadian Regiment of Infantry. He was eventually deployed in Afghanistan. Upon his return, he found out that his mother, as well as his son were diagnosed with cancer.[6] He lost them both the same year. To heal from the trauma, he decided to become a traveler. As he traveled across the world, he uplifted others through his music, his books and as an online influencer.[7][8][9]

Hendricks started making music in 2011 with his R&B release, Without You. His next single came in 2015 called Bump Tonight, and then he rereleased his soca track, In The Air in 2020. His music has been played on radio worldwide and he is currently about to release a new single One More.[10][11] He also was in an R&B singing group called Notice and Notice - sex tape was their music video that was played on MUCH Music. Hendricks appeared as the third person singing.[12][13]

As Hendrix Sky, he released two notable books. He first released his Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) based book, RAGE - Surviving PTSD: Recognize, Accept, Get Help, Execute. He later released a children’s book titled Saving Chocolate Mountain in memory of his son, Ayden, who he lost to brain cancer, at the young age of nine.[14][15]
