Sterling Breeze Chandler (born 23 November 2003) is a British photographer, model and social media personality.[1] best known for his work with Gucci, Dazed & GQ Magazine. [2][3][4][5][6] At age 16, was the youngest photographer to have work published GQ Magazine.[7][8] In 2023, Sterling Chandler made the Forbes 30 Under 30 list for arts & culture.[9]

Career[edit]

Chandler was born on 23 November 2003 in London, where he was raised. He is of British, Jamaican and Trinidadian descent.[1]

In July 2019, Sterling shot a campaign for the Aston Martin, DBS 50th Anniversary at Blenheim Palace.[10] Sterling is also the Photographer for band The Specials, he photographed their shows in London & Coventry during the tour for their No.1 album Encore back in 2019.[11][12][13]

In March 2020, Sterling entered the spotlight by offering to help creative freelancers, local businesses and charities during the current pandemic. He has worked with Tonic, A mental health charity [14], as well as directed the digital campaign for Love Record Stores. The Love Record Stores initiative has generated over £1M in revenue for UK record shops, reports Music Business Worldwide.[15].[16]


Following this Sterling has been praised for his recent work with Gucci, Dazed & GQ. Other examples of his work have been featured in publications such as The Independent, BBC News, Dazed & GQ Magazine.[17][18][19][20]

In November 2020, Sterling co-directed a short film for Gucci and Dazed called 'Knotted Gold' with British singer Arlo Parks and director Tom Dream.[21][22][23]

In December 2020, Chandler shot a campaign with Activist Patrick Hutchinson for British GQ and GQ Men of The Year Awards.[24] Sterling became the youngest photographer to have work published in GQ.

Early life[edit]

At the age of 8, he became a model for Kids London LTD[25], based in Islington, London. He has modelled for various companies and magazines, these include Littlewoods, Marks & Spencer's and John Lewis. In 2015, Sterling was selected to be an Apple Digital Ambassador[26] for the Royal Borough of Greenwich.

Personal life[edit]

Sterling is child of Johnny Chandler[27], Director of A&R at Universal Music[28], Founder of White Label Auction[29] and well known DJ. Johnny has performed at a range of events, some include Oasis Aftershow[30], Earls Court, Oasis Band Launch, Primal Scream, Paul Weller, Giles Peterson & Norman Jay MBE.
