Steve McKnight
Steve McKnight (born May 9, 1972) is an Australian property investor.[1], best-selling author[2], educator[3], speaker[4], and a former chartered accountant[5][6]. He has written many best-sellers around investing in real estate[7].
Early Life[edit]
McKnight grew up in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne, in a town called Doncaster and went to a local primary school, Doncaster Primary[8].
Education[edit]
Steve McKnight holds a bachelor’s degree in Business (Accounting) and is a chartered accountant[9].
Career[edit]
McKnight started his own accounting practice in 1999, the same year he bought his first investment property. He has bought over 800 properties since he started practicing. He began his real estate portfolio with a $44,000 house in Ballarat, Victoria[10][11]. Later, he sold his business to his partner David Bradley[12], in 2006[13][14][15].
McKnight is the co-founder of PropertyInvesting.com. He founded the company in 2001 to teach people about investment. He also holds annual conferences[16][17]. In 2003, McKnight published his first book. In 2006, he followed up with “From 0-260+ Properties in 3.5 Years” and then re-released his first book in 2010[17]. He bought his first properties in the USA in 2009, during the recession.[18]
McKnight has established Australia’s first nationally recognized training program for property investors, Property Apprenticeship, where he shares his investment philosophies. He sits on the board of directors of the Responsible Entity, Passive Income Fund. It is an investment fund that owns commercial property in the USA[19].
He has been a speaker at conferences in Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the United States of America[5]. McKnight has been interviewed on TV and radio and has been featured in print media[5].

McKnight’s publications include, From 0 to 130 Properties in 3.5 Years, From 0 to Financial Freedom: How to do it Today, From 0 to 260+ Properties in 7 Years and 1,000,000 in Property in One Year[20]. He has also co-authored the book Millionaire with Stu Silver[21][22].
His book, From 0 to 130 Properties in 3.5 Years is a best-seller[23]. It is Australia’s most successful real estate book[24]
Personal Life[edit]
McKnight resides in Melbourne. He is married to Julie McKnight and has two daughters.[5]
