Professional Experience[edit]

Steve Milton is the co-founder of the Ada Group, which includes the experience innovation and design agency, A_DA, the global sound and voice agency, Listen, and Undercurrent, an immersive art exhibition with a mission to inspire action on climate change.[1][2][3] Through his work with A_DA, Milton has collaborated with various musicians (Brian Eno, Bon Iver, Bjork, Childish Gambino, Moses Sumney, St. Vincent), artists (Mel Chin, Marina Abromovic, Sol Lewitt) and institutions (the Smithsonian, the Met, the Nobel Foundation, New Museum).[4][5][6][7][8][9][10][11][12][13][14][15][16]

Artist & Musician[edit]

As an artist and musician, Milton has performed around the globe—most notably as a member of the Cloud Room and Lavalier—and has received critical acclaim from publications such as Rolling Stone and Pitchfork.[42][43][44][45][46][47][48] He has created installations and scored works for film, TV and other media.[49][50][51][52]

Teaching[edit]

Milton currently serves as a founding board member and advisor for Northwestern University's Sound Arts and Industries Graduate Program. In 2016, he volunteered as a mentor with NEW INC at New Museum.[53]

Education[edit]

Milton earned a master’s degree in musicology from the New England Conservatory of Music.[53]
